Meet the Elders

As pastors and teachers, RBC's elders are responsible for the overall direction and shepherding of the local flock. They provide pastoral care, vision, direction, teaching and church governance. In addition, David Brereton, David Dawson and Phil Hainaut serve as the designated officiants (civil pastors) whose responsibilities include preparing couples for marriage and officiating at weddings.

You may contact the elders in confidence by calling Phil Hainaut (Staff elder) at 514.807.9096 or by sending them an email.

Nick AzzuoloNick Azzuolo

Nick Azzuolo has been attending RBC since 1996. He is currently employed by World Vision Canada in the position of Regional Program Manager for Montreal. His responsibilities include working in partnership with local Christian non-profits to help them build their organizational capacities and to fund transformational projects.

Over the years Nick has been involved in various service opportunities in his local church such as leading the ALPHA course, serving as a deacon and being involved in evangelism. He is currently the Chair of the Witness Council at RBC. He also has also worked extensively with para-church organizations such as Samaritan’s Purse, Welcome Hall Mission, and Character First Institute. These activities have helped him identify his sense of calling in social justice ministry, small group ministry, and church administration.

Says Nick, "I truly believe that the church is the hope of the world and to promote that hope is my greatest passion and commitment."

Nick's hobbies include nature walks, reading, golfing, enjoying special times with friends and family, and simply enjoying a good plain latte at Starbuck’s.

Nick's roots are tremendously important to him. He explains, "I was very privileged to be part of a large New Canadian family growing up and still cherish that heritage today. My network of family and friends has helped shape me in many positive ways and I am truly grateful for them."

The elders welcomed Nick to the board in 2008.
