"Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so!" We do know this is true, and it is a truth that we strive to communicate even to the youngest attendees at RBC, and to their families! Rosemount Bible Church serves its youngest members through its nursery and pre-kindergarten sunday school classes.
RBC Nursery
Our church nursery is open during each of the Sunday services, and offers care for newborn infants until they are 18 months old.
Our aim is to offer a safe and welcoming environment for the little ones entrusted to our care. The playroom is decorated with a teddy bear theme in bright primary colors, and is equipped with toys, books, and stuffed animals for the children's enjoyment. The adjoining crib room offers facilities for naptime.
Two of our staff of women volunteers are on duty in the nursery during each
service. Our cradle roll varies from eight to ten babies, with an average
attendance of two or three per service. The mix of newborns, crawlers,
toddlers, and early walkers, keeps us on our toes. We play tapes of Christian
children's music for them, sing to them, rock them, feed them, change them,
and burp them.
Though each little one is only with us over a period of eighteen months, we get to mark their first birthday with a card, their first Christmas with a small memento, and their graduation to the downstairs toddlers' class with a little story book.
We are thankful for each of the ladies who volunteer their time to serve in this ministry, and appreciate the trust and open communication that exists between our staff and the parents of the children.
Pre-Kindergarten Sunday School
Our Pre-Kindergarten Sunday School consists of about 20-25
children between the ages of 18 months and five years.
The Toddlers group, ages 18 months to 3 years, is coordinated by Lala Kycia and Helen Campbell. Lala and Helen care for this group of children along with a rotating roster of volunteers. The morning starts with free play and singing with the Pre-K and Kindergarten class. Snack and story time are separate, with age appropriate curriculum, which enables the children to learn about the Lord in a very simple way.
The Pre-K group is divided into two groups:
three year olds: taught by Pat Hurdle. The children learn by touching, seeing and doing, so the program is very structured and full of fun things to do. There is a time of free play (puzzles, play dough, small toys, coloring etc.) singing circle, snack and story time.
four and five year olds: taught by Cherie Gregory and Danielle Hurdle. This is where the children start to learn how to put their faith into action; where learning to love God, obey God and worship God is a fun thing to do!
