On Sundays at RBC, our general purpose is to meet together to remember Jesus’ work on the cross, to worship God and to encourage each other this journey called “life”. Be sure to visit our Home page for a week-by-week schedule.
Normally, our day begins at 9:30 AM with Communion (or the Breaking of Bread). This is a time to remember the sacrifice Jesus Christ made of himself when he died on a cross for the sins of all humankind. Through singing about Jesus, reading scripture and praying together, we express our faith in and obedience to Christ. For those who have personally trusted in Christ’s act of salvation for their sins, taking the bread and the cup is a joyful time because they are aware of how much their sin once separated them from God. Without Jesus paying the penalty for sin, they would have been separated from God for eternity. The Bible says, “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ” (Ephesians 2:13, NIV).
Around 10:15 AM we pause for refreshments in the Fellowship Hall. That’s when our resource libraries are open and there is the opportunity to mingle with others. We encourage RBCers to meet someone new or encourage a friend.
At 10:45 AM we resume our service with more singing and a time of teaching.
