Family Bible Hour
The main teaching time at RBC is the Sunday Family Bible Hour. Teaching is usually done in a series-format of anywhere from 4-8 weeks. The elders take responsibility for planning the teaching series and booking speakers. Examples of some recent series include The Practice of Christian Disciplines, Philippians, Lessons from the Life of Peter, Lessons in Living and Questions Jesus Asked.
Opening Devotional
At the beginning of the Communion service, there is a pre-arranged short devotional to open the service. Its focus is on the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Its purpose is to encourage those who worship to better appreciate who Christ is and what He has done.
Community Groups
During the week, Community Groups meet to fellowship and study the Bible together. Groups are free to choose their own themes or topics of study. Often, groups will take a semester to study a whole book of the Bible such as Colossians or Ephesians. Other groups use small group study guides to focus their time of study together. Visit the Community Groups page for more information about the groups that currently meet.
Our current teaching series called The Reason for God...for skeptics, seekers and students runs from March 14 to April 25. This series will answer seven questions that skeptics freqently ask evangelical Christians. They are:
These questions are raised in Timothy Keller's book called em>The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism. As the founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, he addresses the frequent doubts about religion raised by skeptics and believers.
The goal of this series is to equip believers to stand against the backlash to faith and to challenge skeptics, agnostics and atheists to pursue the reason for God.

A great way to get to know God is to read through the Bible. There is no tool more powerful to sharpen your faith. The Bible instructs, exhorts, encourages, and trains Christians how to live daily to please the Lord (2 Timothy 3:16).
It is not always easy to maintain the discipline of daily reading, and most people who try, have confessed to falling behind at least once! But, once the habit is formed, the benefits outweighed everything else. Those who take up the challenge report walking more closely with God, having an easier time discerning his will, and becoming more knowledgeable in the scriptures. There is also a tremendous sense of accomplishment at having read the entire Bible from cover to cover!
Why not take up the challenge in 2009? Not sure how to get started? Read on!
1. Read the Bible online: Plan a daily visit to eword.gospelcom.net to read the Bible online, in chronological order, in whatever version suits you best.
2. Sign up for an e-Word daily devotional: At E-Word Today, find out how you can receive a free daily Bible reading by email.
3. Buy a Chronological Bible: For an example of a Daily Bible, organized in chronological order with 365 daily readings, visit (www.evangel.com/browse_2557.htm)
4. Download a daily reading plan: Prefer to curl up on the couch with your Bible in hand? Then visit BibleinChronologicalOrder.doc to download and print a copy of the chronological reading plan for the year.
5. Encourage a friend to read with you: You're more likely to stick to any kind of a plan if you use the "buddy" system. Ask a friend or family member to read with you so that you can share & discuss thoughts and encourage one another.
