• Musical Praise and Worship

We believe worship is one of the most fundamental of human responses to God's majesty, holiness, and mercy.

We believe our worship should be a reflection of many different things, including repentance, praise, submission, joy, wonder and devotion.

We believe that these different attitudes can be expressed in many different ways, with a variety of styles, whether through prayer, songs and hymns, dramatic presentations, Biblical readings, or other forms.

The goals of the Worship Council are:

• To bring the church community to a state of worship before God, in His full triune nature, whether through adoration/acclamation, confession, thanksgiving or supplication.
• To ensure that worship is sincere, relevant and dynamic. To ensure that there is always an expectancy to meet God through worship by avoiding excessive routine and repetition.
• To employ different mediums of worship, whether through song, instrumental music, prayer, scripture reading, drama, testimonies, reports or other appropriate means.
• To equip and develop leaders and team members in praise and worship. To refine and develop people’s natural talents and spiritual gifts in worship.

Through the seasonal schedule of ministries at RBC, we try to encourage the worship of our Lord, both individually and corporately.

Worship through song and other elements is an important part of many of our gatherings throughout the week.

The Communion Service and the Family Bible Hour Services are designed as an expression of worship to God. Other special events throughout the year bring the congregation together to worship in special appreciation of a particular way in which God has worked.

In our forms of worship:

• We desire first to approach God in sincerity and humility, in "spirit and in truth." (John 4:23-24.)
• We desire to be thankful, and to acknowledge God in the fullness of His person, as expressed in Heb. 12:28-29: "Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so offer to God an acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire."
• We desire for worship to elicit a response and a change of heart in the participant. As expressed in Romans 12:1-2, worship should orient us to God's will, and God's desire for our lives.

 Musical Praise and Worship

The Praise and Worship time during our weekly Family Bible Hour service is led by three different worship teams on a rotating basis through the month.

One of the most important goals of the worship teams is to create a "care group" for the team participants. We desire that team members grow closer to one another as they share in this privilege of leading worship together. We also feel that maturing believers should be encouraged to cultivate their ministry gifts. Broadening the participation in Praise and Worship gives more individuals the opportunity to develop their gifts and talents.

Each worship team rehearses once each month, on the Thursday just prior to the Sunday at which they will lead worship.   Although there is coordination among the leaders of the different teams, the teams are encouraged to develop a certain color that reflects the variety of gifts and approaches of each team.
